See All ReviewsJust a heads up for anyone ordering shots here — they are NOT full shots. They serve them in small plastic cups and charge $5–$8, but it actually took TWO of those cups to equal one real shot glass. So you’re basically paying full price for half a shot. On top of that, they automatically add gratuity to every purchase. Tip culture is already a lot, but adding it automatically while serving half shots is wild. Not trying to be negative, just want people to be aware.
I want to preface this by saying I was being generous with my rating. When we arrived, we stood near the entrance for several minutes without being acknowledged. I looked for a “Please wait to be seated” sign but did not see one, so we proceeded to find an open booth. We were careful to avoid tables marked as reserved and sat at one that was not. Within about 30 seconds, a waitress approached and asked if we had a reservation. When we said no, she told us she would seat us, requiring us to gather our belongings and move after we had already settled in. This was confusing, especially since there was no sign, the table was not reserved, and we had not been greeted upon arrival. Ultimately, we were seated at a table that had been marked as reserved, with her then removing the sign. Her service throughout the visit was mediocre at best. There was little to no table-side engagement or attentiveness. I ordered the calamari, and while the portion size was generous, the amount of sauce provided was extremely small in comparison. Unfortunately, the calamari itself was also underwhelming. Because of this, I decided not to order an entrée. The drinks were similarly disappointing, as they tasted watered down. This restaurant has a lot of potential. With improvements to staff attentiveness, food quality, and bartending, it could easily become a standout destination in Newark.
Food and drinks were really good and for a great price. And our waiter Miyer was very friendly and great at making us drink and making sure my wife and I were taken care of. Will definitely come back for seconds
